Alcohol Laws For Illinois

The prairie state delegates almost all regulation of alcohol to municipalities. Chicago even allows drinking on the Metra trains! Why sit in traffic on the Damn Ryan when you could be sipping an Old Style on the train ride home?

Can I drink outside of the bar?
Nope. Where do you think you are, Bourbon Street?

Are there certain hours when I can't buy alcohol?
Unfortunately, there are some restrictions here.
In the bar: No statewide regulation exists, bars in some areas of the state (namely Chicagoland) allow for establishments to operate 24 hrs a day. Other areas of the state are more strict.
At the store: Packaged liquor is regulated by municipalities similarly to bars.

You can buy these delights in just a regular grocery store:
Beer
Wine
Liquor
